Nitin Gadkari Reviews DND–Faridabad–Sohna Highway Project: A Major Leap Towards Faster, Smarter Delhi-NCR Connectivity

Once completed, the corridor will also offer direct connectivity to the upcoming Noida International Airport and the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, strengthening one of India's fastest-growing economic regions.

A Game-Changing Highway for Delhi-NCR

The DND–Faridabad–Sohna Access-Controlled Highway is a six-lane corridor stretching approximately 59.063 kilometres. Being developed at an estimated cost of ₹4,463 crore, the project is aimed at creating a faster, safer, and congestion-free route for commuters and commercial traffic alike.

Rapid urbanization has placed enormous pressure on the road network across Delhi-NCR. This new access-controlled highway is designed to address those challenges by offering uninterrupted travel with controlled entry and exit points, ensuring smoother traffic flow and enhanced road safety.

This project, being developed at an estimated cost of ₹2,360 crore, is expected to provide seamless connectivity for passengers, businesses, and logistics operators travelling to and from the new airport.

The improved road network will strengthen regional economic growth by enabling faster movement of goods and people while making airport access more convenient for millions of residents across NCR.

Supporting Delhi's Decongestion Plan

The highway forms an important part of the government's larger Delhi decongestion strategy. Multiple access-controlled highways, expressways, and signal-free corridors are being developed to reduce traffic congestion, shorten travel time, and improve air quality across the region.

As vehicle movement becomes smoother, fuel consumption is expected to decline, leading to lower emissions and improved commuting experiences. These projects are also likely to boost industrial activity, real estate development, tourism, and investment by improving regional connectivity.
